Well, the Shoppe has finally settled down after a crazy Christmas season, so we are on to other projects around the Shoppe!!! Did you know that the Cuba Cheese Shoppe carries over 100 cheeses from around the world? From Danish Blue cheese to Limburger, the Cuba Cheese Shoppe carry cheeses from all over the world. They mostly derive from Europe, but you can find cheese from Canada, Australia and Mexico~!

Catching up after the Christmas Season

WOW, what a Christmas Season we had at the Cuba Cheese Shoppe!!! We sent out over 8,000 in just 2 1/2 weeks!!!! Unfortunately we ran out of some key items as we didn't anticipate such a big year. Thanks to all of our customers who have been patiently awaiting their backordered items. We apologize again and are working on improving our inventory system so this doesn't happen again. If you missed our photo of the UPS truck you will see it at the bottom of this posting. Our UPS guys were AWESOME this year and their trucks were chocked full of packages!!!
Going into the New Year, we have made some internal changes - Our long time Vice President of Operations, Jane Bradley, has FINALLY retired! Well, she is working 2 days a week to make sure the transition is smooth. Her daughter, Sarah, has moved up the ranks to Vice President of Sales & Advertising and is bringing in a whole new outlook on products in the store, promotions, advertising strategies, and superb customer service. We are continuing to grow our business every day and coming out with fresh new ideas for our customers.

Did you know Old York Cheese Spreads were first created and produced in the basement where our retail shoppe is located? They came up with this unique spread in the late 40's and has been popular ever since then. Once the Cuba Cheese Plant was sold, they sold the Old York line to Schreiber Foods in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The Cuba Cheese Shoppe supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month!!! This nationally recognized month is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same. Please visit

MAIL ORDER CATALOG BEING MAILED OUT THIS MONTH!
The 2012-2013 Cuba Cheese Shoppe Mail Order Catalog is being printed and mailed out in just a few weeks! We made a few changes to the new catalog including the exchange of the River Rat Horseradish cheese for Elkin Crackers in The Entertainer package; and switching out the white Sharp and Extra Sharp for the colored Sharp and Extra Sharp, respectively, in the Cheese Pleaser. Also, we have added the following Imported Cheese to our "Cheeses Around the World" category: Mitica Drunken Goat Cheese, Monte Alba Spanish Manchego, Kerrgold Blarney Castle Gouda, Kerrygold Irish Dubliner, Emmi LeGruyere, Norwegian Gjetost, and Clawson White Stilton with Cranberries.
Because of some economic factors outside our control, we were forced to increase some of our cheddar prices. We strive to keep our prices as low as possible for our customers, but sometimes outside influences force us to increase costs. We hope after the election that the economy will become more stabilized and we can strive to keep prices as low as we possibly can.
Another project we have been working on is the unveiling of a new Corporate Development line that includes two (2) Premier Corporate Gift Baskets for corporate clients, business associates and/or employees. We have developed two high end gift baskets that include our Famous New York State Extra Sharp Cheddar, Dutch Gouda, Tickler Cheddar, Stilton with fruit, blue cheese, a Cuba Cheese Shoppe engraved cheese cleaver, Old York Cheddar Cheese Spread and Elkin crackers. Each gift is wrapped in a shiny 'Cuba Cheese Shoppe' gift box. It is the perfect gift for companies that would like to WOW prospective clients and associates. These gifts INCLUDE SHIPPING!!!! As Halloween approaches, we are busy decorating our retail store with ghouls, bats, and other scary creatures sure to give you the creeps!!! Be sure to look at the scary man in the window above our office....he can be seen from the school parking lot and is VERY scary! We also have a ton of Halloween candy in our bulk section - don't forget to stock up for the trick or treater's today!!!

Our October Sale is now on until October 14th!!!! Check out our sale items under the news tab - it is for in-store customers only. We are currently putting together online promotions for our web customers so that they can take advantage of sale items. Right now we are working on the 2012-2013 catalog that will be out by the end of this month! Once we release the catalog, customers who place their orders before November 30th will receive 10% off their entire order (before shipping)!! Last year we sent out over 20,000 packages all over the United States JUST in the month of December! We are excited for our customers to use our new website to place orders this year as we have made it so much more customer friendly. If you find you have any issues at all, please call us immediately! Some other things we have been working on are compiling corporate business list around Western NY in hopes of promoting our gifts for corporate clients and/or business associates. FIREBALL RUN EVENT

The Fireball Run is the story of 40 teams as they embark upon an emotional and epic 8 day, 14 city, 2500 mile interactive adventure; a life-sized trivia pursuit. All while aiding in the recovery of America's Missing Children. Headquartered inside Studio 22A at Universal Studios the series has aided in 38 missing child recoveries!!! Around 11am on Monday, September 24th, the Cuba Police shut down the small strip of road in front of the Cuba Cheese Shoppe for the 2012 Fireball Run! 14 cars pulled into our Shoppe to get their picture taken in front of our new sign and cows, Monty and Jack. The other locations that were visited were Moonwinks Restaurant and Empire City Farms.
They were coming from Lucille Ball's hometown, Jamestown, NY and this was the mission:
Mission Clue
Arrive no earlier than 10:40a or after 12:40p. Seeing as you met Ricky Ricardo yesterday, a journey to Cuba seemed a tad cheesy, but the ideal location of this next mission. For over 100 years this award-winning product was only available in select markets, then in 1976, they rolled the wheel for all to enjoy. This amore mission requires you to somehow snap a photo feeding your co-driver a wedge in front of this famous shoppe. For the points to count we must see the famous sign in the photo or this will be a real stinker. Don't forget your lovely parting gift. Value: 30 points home slice.
One of the celebrities that graced us with her presence was "Timber" Tina, a World Champion Lumber Jill. Another celeb was Tim Colceri "Coach" who starred in the film, Full Metal Jacket. We had a $500,000 Lamborghini come through as well as a 1989 Ferrari! All of the contestants pulled in, took photo's with our Cuba-Rushford students and cow mascot, ate a wedge of Cuba Extra Sharp Cheddar, and received a complimentary gift bag of Old York, crackers, fresh cheese curd and Cuba Extra Sharp Cheddar.
The Cuba Cheese Shoppe would like to thank Shannon Halsaver, Brian Louckes, Gretchen Hanchett, Cindy LaFever, Cuba-Rushford Student Council, Kathy Brewer and the Cuba Police for making this event so special!
